01 Mobile app development
Mobile App Development in Coimbatore
An app people delete after one use never needed the feature list. We build apps for iOS and Android that people actually keep — and open again.
An app people delete after one use never needed more features. An app people open every day never needed convincing.
02 Definition
What is mobile app development?
Mobile app development is the full system behind an app on someone's phone — what they see and tap, the servers and APIs that power it behind the scenes, and the security that keeps their data safe while they use it.
What people touch
Screens, navigation, and every interaction on the device itself.
What powers it
APIs, databases, and the infrastructure the app talks to.
What protects it
Authentication, encryption, and data handled the way it should be.
Not sure which build approach fits?
Tell us what the app needs to do — we'll recommend native, cross-platform, or hybrid honestly.
03 Build approach
Native, cross-platform, or hybrid
The right choice depends on what the app needs to do, not which one sounds more advanced.
Native development
Built separately for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) — the best performance and full access to platform features, at a higher build cost.
Cross-platform development
One codebase compiles to near-native apps on both platforms — faster to build, with performance close to fully native for most business apps.
Hybrid development
A web application wrapped in a native shell — can be faster to build for simpler use cases, though it may have more noticeable limitations in performance and native feel.

Already have an app that needs work?
We take on existing apps for redesigns, migrations, and features that got stuck.
05 AI in the app
Building for the AI era
Content and suggestions that adapt to how someone actually uses the app, not a one-size-fits-all screen.
Natural-language search and predictive input that cut down on typing and tapping.
Chat or voice interfaces that handle common tasks without a trip through five menus.
AI-assisted code generation and testing speed up the build — reviewed by engineers, not shipped blind.
AI speeds up parts of building and running an app. It doesn't replace deciding what the app should actually do for the person holding the phone.

07 Why Akkenna
An app is more than a build
Real build experience
Applications shipped across web and mobile, not a first attempt at figuring out how app stores work.
One connected team
Brand identity, backend, and security work together from day one, not stitched together after the fact.
Platform-honest advice
We recommend native, cross-platform, or hybrid based on what the app needs — not what's easiest for us to sell.

08 Design philosophy
Two principles behind every app
An app should explain itself
On a phone screen, there's no room for a confusing menu or an unclear icon — every extra tap is a reason someone gives up and deletes it. Steve Krug's usability principle matters even more on mobile than on the web, because the screen is smaller and the patience is shorter.
Give people a reason to open it again
Most apps get used once and forgotten. The ones that survive give someone a specific reason to come back — not a feature list, but a habit worth keeping. Seth Godin's word for this is remarkable: worth returning to, not just worth downloading.

10 Where this fits
An app doesn't stand alone
The identity, the content, and the commerce layer often live in the same app.
Website design & development
Many apps need a companion website — marketing pages, login, or an admin dashboard.

12 Questions
Frequently asked
Should I build native or cross-platform?
Native makes sense when performance or deep platform features matter most — camera-heavy apps, AR, or anything pushing hardware limits. Cross-platform makes sense when you need iOS and Android from one codebase, faster and at lower cost, without sacrificing much for most business apps.
What's the difference between cross-platform and hybrid apps?
Cross-platform frameworks like React Native or Flutter compile down to native components, so performance stays close to native. Hybrid apps wrap a website inside a native shell — faster and cheaper to build, but with more noticeable performance and feel limitations.
How long does app store approval take?
Google Play review is typically a few hours to a couple of days. Apple's App Store review usually takes 1 to 3 days, longer if the app touches sensitive categories like health or finance, or if the first submission gets flagged for guideline issues.
Do you handle app maintenance after launch?
Yes — OS updates, new device sizes, security patches, and bug fixes are ongoing, not one-time. We usually agree on a maintenance plan alongside the initial build so the app doesn't quietly break six months after launch.
How does AI fit into a mobile app now?
Mainly in personalisation, on-device features like smart suggestions, and faster development workflows. It speeds up parts of building and running an app; it doesn't replace deciding what the app should actually do for the person using it.
How it comes together
A clear path from brief to handover.
- STEP 01
Define the first release and its acceptance criteria.
- STEP 02
Design, implement and review the core user journeys.
- STEP 03
Test the agreed device coverage and prepare release materials.
